SAIT launches The Seniorizer as part of its Get a career you will never want to leave campaign PDF Print E-mail

Calgary, AB - SAIT Polytechnic wants to show future students what they will look like growing old in a career they love. The Seniorizer, a new Facebook application created by SAIT, allows users to preview what they may look like in their elderly years, complete with crow’s feet, glasses and laugh lines. The application allows users to upload a photo and age themselves; creatively demonstrating SAIT’s marketing tagline, ‘Get a career you’ll never want to leave.’

“This campaign is a big departure from typical post-secondary recruitment initiatives. People are exposed to over 1,000 advertising messages a day. With this campaign we are trying to break through that clutter,” said Viola Midegs, Marketing Director, SAIT Polytechnic. “We recognize that our prospective students have a lot of career choices in front of them, so we wanted to find a fun way to express that job satisfaction and fulfillment comes from following your passion.”

SAIT recently hosted an Open House event to encourage prospective students to visit the institution and learn more about program options. Over 900 people applied to SAIT programs at the event, marking the beginning of the 2010/11 application period.

While SAIT is experiencing an increased number of applications, openings are still available in programs like: Business Administration, Exploration Information Technology and Geomatics. For information about these programs and other opportunities at SAIT visit sait.ca.
