Tips for shutdowns and turnarounds PDF Print E-mail
Written by Terry Wireman
Shutdowns and turnarounds require complex logistics and coordination. Once you have agreed to the shutdown work, a review of all of related activities that must be performed should be completely reviewed. Job plans should include:

• Duration of the work: All dependencies, if any should be specified;

• Labour resources required: Each craft and duration is required;

• Materials required: These would be for each job, including the staging location;

• Drawings and documentation: Updated and properly copied;

• Special equipment requirements: Rental equipment, such as man-lifts, etc.;

• Engineering standards: All safety and environmental requirements; and
• Contractor requirements: This includes labour, materials and equipment.
