Talisman Energy named one of Canada's best corporate citizens |

CALGARY, AB — Talisman Energy Inc. has been named one of Canada's 50 best corporate citizens by Corporate Knights magazine. This year, Talisman Energy is ranked 36th, up from 55th the year prior.
"We are delighted to be included in Corporate Knight's list of Canada's best corporate citizens,” said Reg Manhas, VP Corporate Responsibility and Government Affairs. "Talisman is committed to responsible business and has worked hard to establish corporate responsibility policies and practices that are core to our decision-making process."
The recognition follows a recent Jantzi Research and Maclean's magazine feature on the 50 Most Responsible Corporations in Canada, where Talisman was also acknowledged as a top performer in the area of corporate responsibility.
Talisman is also a member of the United Nations Global Compact, a group formed to support human rights, labour and the environment; and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, which strives to raise international expectations on the verification and publication of company payments from oil, gas and mining to host governments. Talisman is also the only Canadian company that's a full participant in the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights Plenary Group, an organization of governments, extractive companies and civil society groups working to implement and promote best practices in the areas of security and human rights. Talisman is also listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability (North America) Index.
