Houston, TX - IT productivity solutions are becoming the key to managing exploration and production processes in the oil and gas industry. The need to drive more efficiency and cost-effectiveness into these processes is causing oil and gas companies to seek new methods to improve results. At the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2009 in Houston, Texas, Germanischer Lloyd (GL) Industrial Services presented the Asset Integrity Management tool GALIOM. This software helps to safeguard reliable and cost-efficient operation over the entire lifetime of an exploration plant.
Now, GL Industrial Services also offers SAP integration. The SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module is a popular computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). GL Industrial Services now comes with a built-in plug-and-play GALIOM-SAP adapter software. GL Industrial Services and Junot Systems, Inc., a provider of embedded integration technology, collaborated closely to develop a pre-built set of affordable, shrink-wrapped SAP interfaces for GALIOM. It allows companies to connect GALIOM to their SAP systems faster, with reduced risk and at lower cost than would otherwise be possible. NLINK SAP integration projects require no custom coding and nothing to be installed into the SAP landscape. The NLINK product can be embedded by GL Industrial Services into GALIOM to provide SAP integration to oil and gas operators and service companies. The new data integration approach is cost-effective, readily available and reduces implementation time drastically. "GL Industrial Services offers full support with the implementation, helping to fulfil any changes required in the baseline configuration, tests the interface on location and ensures all initial mapping works are completed", explains Edward Pagano, President of GL Industrial Services for the Americas. "Formal training for IT administrators is also available. The GALIOM-SAP interface adapter can be demonstrated utilising live GALIOM and SAP software." In the past, GL software engineers were involved in SAP integration projects for Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP), which used the traditional solution of individual software side programming. For PEMEX GAS, traditional codes were also written by GL engineers to integrate SAP and GALIOM, synchronising data between the two software systems. www.gl-group.com |
