At the end of June, SINTEF announced the development of a snake-shaped pipe inspection robot, which has wheels and will be able to climb, navigate intersections, and be easily located in the pipe system.
Fluke had announced the new Fluke 113 Utility Multimeter, which allows users to do meter set and reconnect testing, and has the ability to repair most electrical problems.
Other abilities include simultaneous testing for voltage or continuity,
diode tests, and auto and manual ranging capabilities. Features include
a backlight and large display.
Tregaskiss has released the new TOUGH GUN ThruArm Series, which includes low-stress robotic unicable technology, and
features a rotating power connection that relieves stress and a
protective conduit to shield the cable components. The ThruArm Series
provides 500 amps of air-cooled capacity with CO2 and 350 amps with
mixed gases (based on NEMA standards). It is available for both clutch
and solid-mount robotic systems, and several brands of air-cooled
robotic guns.
The Loctite QuickStix 2088 Primer from Henkel is a semi-solid primer that quickens the cure time of anaerobic machinery adhesives, such as those used in threadlocking, threadsealing, gasketing and retaining.
It is solvent-free and VOC compliant. Suggested uses include on plated,
anodized, and galvanized parts, inactive metals, cold metals, and deep
threads. The Primer is sold in a 17g stick applicator.
Henkel has announced the Loctite 2033 Gel Threadlocker, which can deliver both precise and wide dispensing. It cures between metal surfaces and prevents loosening due to shock or
vibration. It can withstand most chemicals, liquids, gasses, and
temperatures up to 150 degrees Celsius, and can be disassembled using
standard hand tools.
Suggested uses include overhead and pre-applied applications. The gel is sold in 35m bottles with two dispense heads.
Henkel Corp. has released the Loctite Freeze and Release, a spray-on lubricant.
Freeze and Release work by instantly freezing seized and rusted parts,
shrinking the metal and cracking the rust layer, allowing assembly
dismantling. It is available in a 400ml aerosol can.
FLIR Systems, Inc. announced the addition of two new offerings to its T-series of infrared cameras for predictive maintenance (PdM) applications.
The T-250 and T-200 cameras have FLIR's picture-in-picture FUSION,
which overlays the infrared image and the corresponding visible image,
making interpretation easier.
The
cameras include 200 x 150 infrared resolution (30,000 pixels), auto and
manual focus for different users and various applications, and thermal
sensitivity to pinpoint problems. The T-250 offers a touch-screen
capability for sketching diagrams and marking images.
Trico Corp. has launched its new Web-based Lubrication Library. The online service provides subscribers a central point of reference on lubricant specifications and technical information from major lubricant suppliers.
It allows users to easily build and print a reference list of
lubricants currently used within their facility, as well as
manufacturer-specifications sheets and material-safety data sheets
(MSDS). Subscribers can search multiple types of information with the
database, such as manufacturer, lubricant name, viscosity grade,
specific gravity, and lubricant type just to name a few. Each search
produces a detailed view of specifications and the capability to print
a report for comparison. The search criteria can also be saved for
future reference.
