Processors reduce heat to increase reliability PDF Print E-mail
GE Fanuc has announced the VG6, which features the MPC8640/D processors. The processors create less heat than regular processors, and consume up to 27 per cent less power. It is designed for industrial automation, military/aerospace, medical and scientific applications, and situations where too much heat compromises the reliability of the machinery.

The VG6 can be configured as a single core, dual core, and have up to 2GB of memory. It also features three Ethernet ports, two SATA ports, four serial I/O ports, and six USB 2.0 interfaces.
