Paris - The B3.3 engine from Cummins Inc. powered the Mecalac 12MTX Hybrid wheeled excavator to dual-award-winning success at the INTERMAT show in Paris, France in April. The machine won the Gold Award for Innovation as well as the Special Environmental Prize. The 68-hp (51 kW) rated 4-cylinder B3.3 engine drives an electrical generator and lithium-ion battery system to achieve 25 percent lower fuel consumption with reduced CO2 emissions and quieter operation.
Metso has signed a multi-year service agreement with the AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine in Tarkwa in Ghana. The contract includes the supply of maintenance management services and spare and wear parts for AngloGold Ashanti’s new crushing and screening plant delivered by Metso. The agreement was signed in Q2 of 2009 and its value exceeds EUR 5 million.

Calgary, AB - Suncor Energy Inc. and Petro-Canada today announced that they have agreed to merge the two companies. Upon completion of the transaction, the parties have agreed the combined entity will operate corporately and trade under the Suncor name, while maintaining the brand presence of Petro-Canada in refined products.
VANCOUVER, B.C. - GOLDCORP INC. today (February 19, 2009) reported record gold production of 691,800 ounces for the quarter ended December 31, 2008. Reported net earnings amounted to $958.1 million in the quarter, or $1.31 per share, which includes a non-cash foreign exchange gain on the revaluation of future income tax liabilities. Adjusted net earnings in the quarter were $84.4 million, or $0.12 per share. The Company also announced today that total proven and probable reserves increased seven percent to 46.3 million ounces as of December 31, 2008, Goldcorp’s fifth consecutive annual reserves increase.
CALGARY, AB - EnCana Corporation announced recently that it achieved solid increases in 2008 cash flow and operating earnings as a result of strong growth in natural gas and oil production and higher prices. Financial results were enhanced in the fourth quarter by EnCana's favourable natural gas price hedges. Again in 2008, EnCana achieved strong year-over-year proved reserves additions.
CALGARY, AB - Suncor Energy Inc. reported earlier this month that production at its oil sands facility during January averaged approximately 251,000 barrels per day (bpd). Suncor is targeting average oil sands production of 300,000 bpd (+5%/-10%) in 2009.
