Cleantech Group named Organica Water to the 2019 Global Cleantech 100. 
The merger of Barrick Gold and Randgold Resources has created a new company which began trading shares on the New York and Toronto Stock Exchanges.The new company is still known as Barrick but its trading symbol on the NYSE will change to GOLD, the ticker formerly held by Randgold on NASDAQ. On the TSX, the ticker remains ABX.
Technymon GBT, a manufacturer of sliding bearing products, named Bernd Fischer as Group CEO.
Enerplus Corporation has appointed Karen Clarke-Whistler to its board of directors. In 2018, Clarke-Whistler retired as the Chief Environment Officer of TD Bank Group. She spent more than 15 years working as an environmental consultant to a diverse base of clients in North and South America, Europe and Africa.
Canadian heavy and light oil prices should improve in 2019 as a result of increased demand from refineries in the United States, improving transportation capacity and mandatory productions cuts in Alberta, according to Deloitte's Resource Evaluation and Advisory (REA) group.

WSP Canada and Deloitte  conducted a study to evaluate the technical and economic potential for renewable natural gas (RNG) production in Québec between now and 2030. This study, which was requested by Énergir, was overseen by a steering committee of key industry players; including the Chair in Energy Sector Management – HEC Montréal, the Conseil de l'industrie forestière du Québec, Énergir, RECYC-QUÉBEC and the Union des producteurs agricoles.
