Learn what Ministry of Labour health and safety inspectors look for during an inspection visit of a mine development at a soft rock salt mine in Goderich, Ont.

In this video, Ontario Ministry of Labour inspector Rick Shulist walks viewers through a typical inspection at the Goderich Salt Mine, located on the shores of Lake Huron, Ont. Not only does he check whether training records meet Section 11 of the Occupational Heath and Safety Act and regulations, but he also talks to workers to gauge their competency level while operating a piece of equipment. In addition, he also looks for proper signage, general housekeeping and that inventory supplies lists and stock match up.
