Emerson Process Management announces the expansion of its Rosemount 8800D Series of Vortex flowmeters to include stainless steel transmitter housings, which are often required for applications in corrosive environments. This new stainless steel housing increases the reliability and longevity of the transmitter in these environments, greatly reducing the overall cost of ownership.
AUSTIN, TX - Emerson Process Management's wireless temperature transmitters have been installed at BP Exploration's Dalmeny onshore terminal. Once in place, the new wireless network confirmed that the existing tank protection system is capable of providing the necessary protection. Dalmeny, located near Edinburgh, UK, has the capacity to store about four million barrels of stabilized crude oil from the Forties oil field. Eight interconnected storage tanks, 40-50m in diameter, are used to regulate the flow of oil between production wells and the tankers or pipeline that will transport it to the refinery.
Portland, OR - FLIR Systems, Inc. recently announced the launch of its second generation line of GF-Series infrared cameras, previously known as GasFindIR. The line includes two innovative IR cameras designed to reduce product and revenue loss associated with industrial gas leaks, and improve worker safety in areas where leaking gas can cause fire and explosion. The new GF320 detects all types of greenhouse gas emissions, and the new GF309 “sees clearly through flames,” making it ideal for high temperature, industrial furnace inspections.
Warminster, PA - ABB Instrumentation recently announced the launch of a new range of flowmeters that, according to the company, sets a new standard in flow measurement. The FlowMaster range provides customers with new levels of flexibility, intuitive control and measuring accuracy for the complete spectrum of flow measurement applications.
Toronto - The Winters SCT Series Cooling Tower is designed specifically to protect pressure instruments in high temperature applications. It works by using “heat exchange” technology in the same way radiators do.
